Parent Engagement (Molly Sundby)

  • Mayer Meet Up Google Group

    • More casual, not a coordinated event by Mayer or FOM (ex. sledding at the park, going to the beach)

    • Molly can think of things and send out or families can broadcast (ex. book club); good way to bring parents together in a more casual way

    • Can be for anyone, not just new parents

    • OPEN ITEM: Are there rules/considerations before starting it?  Modify letter and determine logistics.

    • Comments:

  • Roona

    • Love the casual nature of the group

    • Be more specific on the audience / purpose

    • No school/FOM sponsored events, participate at your own expense

  • AP Sarah: Difference between this and the RP?  It’s more causal and less coordinated, outside of just the class

  • Geneva

    • Likes that it will engage new parents

    • Needs to be inclusive and not have all events take place by school (idea: provide information and neighborhood when join)

    • Can LSC/FOM partner on this for parent engagement?

      • What are the goals?  Grow?  More engagement?

  • Rowena: Can we leverage More the Mayer Facebook page?  Concerns with it being external/social media

  • Danielle: social media can be good and bad; not opposed but would need some ground rules as everyone can see what’s on social, including prospective parents

  • OPEN ITEM: Dean to connect Molly to colleague at another school for ideas

School Engagement (Rhyan Sperling)

    • Initial order is in for envelopes and bins, able to find envelopes at a better price (half the cost!)
