The 2019 WALKATHON is Friday June 7th 2019!
WHAT IS THE WALKATHON?
It’s Friends of Mayer’s last fundraiser of the year and the most fun day at Mayer! Save all or part of the day to come out and cheer on your kids. We’ll kick off the day with a special appearance from the Jessie White Tumblers, followed by groups of classes taking turns walking or running the perimeter of Trebes park.
WHAT ARE THE FUNDRAISING GOALS?
Our goal is 100% participation from the Mayer community! We are asking that each student PK-6th grade secure 3 donations. It doesn’t matter if the donation is $1 or $100 – every dollar counts! Classrooms will track their progress and those classrooms that reach their fundraising goal will receive a prize. The 7th and 8th grade classrooms have a goal of raising $7500 in order to participate in a lock-in (aka slumber party at school).
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
We rely on volunteers from within the Mayer community to make this day a success. We’ll need help with setup, clean up, handing out water to the kids, and working the track to make sure it’s a fun and safe experience for all.
You’ll be hearing more about the Walkathon in the weeks to come, but we look forward to another fun and successful event! If you have questions about the Walkathon, please reach out to the co-chairs Natalie Meadows at firstname.lastname@example.org or Melissa Herman at email@example.com.
