Walkathon

The Mayer Magnet School Annual Wellness-In-Motion Walkathon took place on Friday, May 6, 2011.

Mayer Magnet's walkathon builds awareness around the importance of a healthy lifestyle for children. By working together to promote health and wellness, we can create a generation of physically fit children who have healthy bodies and minds.

By walking laps around Trebes Park, the park adjacent to the school, the students raise money through pledges they have secured for Mayer Magnet School in addition to the generous sponsors. The money raised goes towards funding teaching positions and other Mayer Magnet expenses (such as field trip buses, office supplies and sports equipment.) This year's walkathon included 616 students, 125 companies, the Mayer Magnet faculty, parents and volunteers. We have already surpassed last year's total of $61,000 and we are still working towards our goal of $75,000.

A HUGE thank you to our fabulous sponsors please visit each of these businesses AT LEAST ONCE to thank them for their support of our school, and to offer our patronage to them as well.

It's not too late donate!
